Renovation By-Law? What You'll Need ...

Our most popular kind of by-law is a by-law for lot-owner renovation works. If you are renovating your apartment, you will likely need to have those renovation works approved by the owners corporation at a general meeting and prepare a by-law approving the works, giving you the obligation for the ongoing repair and maintenance of the works.

After we respond to your enquiry, we will need to ensure we have the following details before we can proceed:

  • The apartment address
  • The apartment lot and strata plan number (this is shown on your levy statement and looks something like "Lot 1, SP12345"
  • If you know them, your strata manager's contact details
  • A description of your renovation works, including any plans, drawings, specifications or diagrams provided by an architect, engineer or builder
  • Confirmation if all of the works have been completed already or if they are proposed
